Email marketing IS necessary in building your business.  Are you sometimes personally annoyed by all of the emails you receive each day?  Let’s keep that point in mind as you consider your email marketing strategy for your business moving forward.  I would also like you to think back to the many times you’ve bought something BECAUSE of an email you’ve received.  You see, it’s a catch 22. It’s a necessary evil in today’s business world.

Although you may be annoyed at the number of emails you receive each day, believe it or not, it actually influences your buying habits.  At some point in time, even if you don’t remember, you’ve shown interest in each company that is emailing you.  One of their products or services either you’ve used before, bought before, or was considering buying it at some point, so you signed up for a newsletter, a download, a coupon or something similar.  Does that sound about right?

The number of emails you receive each day will never slow down because marketers have found emails to be one of THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAYS TO SELL.  In fact, these companies have the bank account figures to prove it works which is why they will continue to do it and the trend won’t cease anytime soon.  How many times have you saved an email with the intentions of going back to it to purchase the deal or use the coupon they’ve provided?  Many times right?  Well, all of these behaviors we’ve mentioned will also work for you in your business.  People are people and we all will buy what we need, when we need it, if we have the money for it.  As long as what you’re selling meets the needs of the people you are emailing, a percentage of them will purchase from you at some point.

Email marketing is important for several reasons

1.) It helps you stay connected with the community of people who are interested in you/your business.

You’ve heard the saying “out of sight, out of mind” right?  That’s why email marketing is so important.  Keep reminding people that you exist and want to serve them.  That’s what marketing overall is all about.  It’s also an easy way for them to share your business with people they know simply by forwarding your email.  If the email contains helpful information or an impressive coupon, it is certainly sure to catch the attention of the reader and increase the likelihood of them sharing it.

2.) It saves you lots of time while still nurturing relationships.

Do you remember the days when you had to type in every email address individually each time you wanted to email a bunch of people at once?  Luckily those copy and paste days are over and email marketing automation has saved the day.   All email marketing automation services enable you to personalize each message so that each email recipient feels the personal connection with you and your business.  Simple details like adding their first name to an email and repeating it throughout really makes a difference.

3.) It helps you make money!

How?  Keeping people engaged with your business and being there (in their inbox) right when they need your product or service, highly increasing the likelihood of you getting their business.
